How to Watch ESPN3 Live Without Cable - Top 5 Options

You can watch ESPN3 live without cable with one of these streaming services: Sling TV, Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream. Just use your login credentials with the ESPN App to get ESPN3 content and simulcasts of ABC. In this article, we’ll help you decide which option is best for you whether you want to watch cricket or NFL simulcasts. We’ve also created a channel schedule for ESPN3 that you can view for free.

Watch ESPN3 with Sling TV

Source: Sling TV

Sling TV is the cheapest way to get ESPN3. However, the lack of support for the national broadcast networks means you'll want an antenna to grab all your local channels. It's the best option for people who use HDTV antennas to get their local TV broadcasts as Sling doesn't charge for local channels. You can take advantage of their prepay offer to get a free antenna if you don't already have one.

Sling TV Pricing and Packages

The Sling Orange plan includes ESPN3. You can also get the sports network when you subscribe to the combined Sling Orange + Sling Blue plan.

For more information about Sling TV plans and pricing, click here.

Sling TV Channels

Although Sling Orange has ESPN3 — as well as ESPN, ESPN2, Motortrend and Stadium — it does not have any broadcast channels so won’t completely replace cable. However, if you get local over-the-air channels through an HDTV antenna, Sling TV becomes an attractive way to add basic cable channels.

If you're a big sports fan, you may want to also spring for the Sports Extra expansion pack. For another $11 per month, you get channels like NBA TV and the MLB Network.

Sling TV Supported Devices

Sling TV was the original legal streaming TV service, so its developers have had time to build apps for a huge number of streaming platforms.

  • Living room devices: Air TV Player, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Facebook Portal, Roku and TiVo Stream.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Models based on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku. Also, certain models from LG and Samsung.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Amazon Fire tablets, Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One and Oculus.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome.

For more information about Sling TV device support, click here.

Sling TV Simultaneous Streams

Sling Orange only works with one device at a time. Sling Blue works with three devices at a time. Unfortunately, even with an Orange + Blue subscription, Sling Orange channels are still limited to a single stream.

For more information about Sling TV simultaneous streaming, click here.

Sling TV DVR

You get 50 hours of recording capacity with Sling TV's plans. You can pay an extra $5 per month to unlock the 200 hour recording capacity. Keep in mind, however, that the DVR functionality unfortunately isn't available for ESPN3.

For more information about Sling TV DVR, click here.

Sling TV On-Demand Library

Sling TV has over 10,000 hours of on-demand content supplied by the cable networks and channels. You can watch shows like The Big Bang TheoryRick and MortyGhost Adventures, and more.

Sling also offers a movie rental service.

Watch ESPN3 on Fubo

Fubo

As cord-cutting took off, sports fans wanted to love Fubo. Until recently, however, ESPN was not available in the streaming service’s lineup. A deal struck with The Walt Disney Company in the middle of 2020 eliminated that weakness. Now you can stream ESPN channels through Fubo and get access to ESPN3.

Fubo Pricing and Packages

Despite a recent price increase, Fubo’s combination of features and channels makes its pricing competitive.

The Starter plan provides a solid cable-replacement service with premium features, while the Pro and Elite plans add even more channels and better features. Learn more about Fubo’s pricing and packages here.

Fubo Channels

No matter which plan you choose, you will get ESPN and ESPN2. In turn, your Fubo credentials will unlock access to ESPN3 through ESPN’s app and website. You’ll also get dozens of sports-centric TV channels that aren’t available on other streaming services. The basic cable lineup offers a wide selection of content for everyone in the family including HGTV, Fox News, National Geographic and more. Learn more about Fubo’s channel lineup here.

Fubo Local Channels & Regional Sports Networks

Fubo’s support for local TV stations is inconsistent. Until the Disney deal, you couldn’t get ABC stations at all. Now people living in a dozen major markets will be able to watch Disney-owned ABC stations. The rest of the country will have to wait until Fubo signs deals with local station owners. CBS stations are available in about half the country. Fox and NBC stations are widely available. Another knock against Fubo as a sports streamer is its poor support for regional sports networks. It carries half a dozen NBC Sports regionals, but few others. Learn more about Fubo’s local channels here.

Fubo Supported Devices

Look for the Fubo app in these app stores:

  • Living room devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Samsung televisions as well as devices based on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari.

You can learn more about Fubo’s device support here.

Fubo Simultaneous Streams

With support for three devices at a time on the home network and two devices on mobile, Fubo’s Family plan is already one of the most competitive. The Elite plan lets five people watch live TV at home and another three on the road — all at the same time. You can learn more about Fubo’s simultaneous streams here.

Fubo DVR

Most households will be happy with the 250-hour limit that comes with the Starter Plan. Pro and Elite subscribers are rewarded with a full 1,000 hours of recording capacity. Learn more about Fubo’s DVR feature here.

Fubo On-Demand Library

Fubo supplements the content from all of its channels with sports-themed shows and films from the Fubo Sports Network. Learn more about Fubo’s on-demand library here.
