Thinking of subscribing to YouTube TV? Want to learn more about its features, like the YouTube TV DVR? Here’s a quick guide that will tell you everything you need to know about this feature. You can also check out our full YouTube TV review here, and see if this streaming service is right for you.

Does YouTube TV come with a DVR?

Yes. Every YouTube TV plan comes with a free DVR at no extra charge, included as part of your subscription.

What are the YouTube TV DVR storage limits?

With the YouTube TV DVR, you can store as many episodes and hours of content as you want for up to 9 months. After 9 months, your oldest recordings will begin to be deleted. As long as you watch your recordings within this time limit, you won't have to worry about deletion.

Can I upgrade YouTube TV DVR storage capacity?

No. There is currently no way to upgrade YouTube TV and boost your storage capacity, though most cord-cutters will find no need to do so anyway.

Can I watch DVR recordings offline?

Yes. If you purchase the YouTube TV 4K Plus add-on, you can download most DVR recordings to your mobile device and watch them later. This add-on also lets you stream in 4K when watching supported content, and get unlimited streams on your home WiFi network. Check out our article about YouTube TV's plans and pricing for more info.

How do I use the YouTube TV DVR on my device?

The process for recording and playing back shows will vary, based on your device. Check out this article from YouTube TV to view instructions for your preferred device.
