Sling TV Channels
There are several options for adding a BBC News live stream to your Sling TV account. If you want to maximize the number of channels you get, purchase the Orange + Blue subscription and get the News Extras add-on pack. With Sling Blue and the News Extras add-on, you’ll get even more channels. The main advantage of choosing Sling Orange is that it comes with ESPN and several other Disney-owned channels.

Sling TV Supported Devices
Sling TV has apps for nearly every TV device except PlayStation game consoles. However, there is a possibility that PlayStation may be open to adding a Sling TV app to their app store now that they’ve shut down their own streaming service, PlayStation Vue.

Sling TV Simultaneous Streams
Sling TV is still lagging behind a bit when it comes to account sharing features. All Sling Blue channels can be streamed to three devices at the same time. That’s the same number of streams that most other streaming services offer. Sling Orange channels, however, can only be streamed to one device at a time. However, there is a workaround for this: TV Everywhere.
TV Everywhere lets people with streaming service subscriptions and cable subscriptions unlock content on stand-alone TV apps. Since unlocked TV apps don’t count against your stream limit, you can use them for account sharing purposes. For example, let’s say you have Sling Orange and you want to watch ESPN but you can’t open the stream with Sling TV because someone else in your house is watching a Sling Orange channel. To solve this issue, just download the ESPN app and unlock it with your Sling TV credentials.

Sling TV DVR
Sling TV’s DVR recently got a big upgrade. You can now record 50 hours’ worth of TV for free, without having to pay an additional monthly fee for DVR usage. In addition, you can record just about any channel you want. Prior to the upgrade, the DVR wasn’t compatible with Sling Orange and you had to pay a small recurring fee to unlock it. In addition, for a small monthly fee of $5, you can upgrade your Sling plan to have 200 hours of DVR storage.

Sling TV On-Demand Library
Though Sling TV’s specialty is live TV, it does have a growing library of on-demand content as well. Another bonus: you can use your Sling TV credentials to unlock a wide array of different TV Everywhere-compatible TV apps. Many of these apps have additional on-demand content that you can enjoy on a variety of TV devices.
It’s also worth noting here that Sling TV has above-average TVE (TV Everywhere) support. If nothing in the library perks your interest, you can try downloading some TVE-compatible apps. Most TV apps let you access additional on-demand content after you unlock them.
BBC News live stream option 2: Philo
Philo is even cheaper than Sling TV and it offers BBC News. However, it’s definitely not for everyone. In order to keep its prices low, Philo has opted to not carry any sports channels. If you’re not a sports fan, you probably won’t care about that. But if you are, you’d probably be better off with some other streaming service that carries BBC News.
