Watch Global TV on StackTV

The StackTV streaming service is one of the best options available for Global TV content. As long as you have an Amazon Prime Video account, you can add StackTV as a Prime Video channel. Why through Prime Video channels, you ask? Like many services, StackTV uses Prime Video’s well-develop content delivery service to provide its content access instead of building out its own.
StackTV Plans and Pricing
There’s just one streaming package available through StackTV. You can sign up for CDN$ 12.99 per month following a 30-day free trial period.
The only limitation with StackTV is that you can only sign up if you have an Amazon Prime Video subscription. Chances are good that you already have one for the lucrative Prime Shipping discounts. If you’re a newcomer to Prime, you can sign up for Amazon Prime Video with a 30-day free trial. (For those in Quebec, Prime Video instead includes a free month of service with a paid account). After the trial period, Amazon Prime Video is just CDN$ 7.99 per month.
Prime Video is fairly feature-rich beyond just access to on-demand and live TV content. With a Prime Video subscription, you’ll get:
- Free two-day shipping
- Free same-day shipping
- Free one-day shipping
- Basic Prime Music access
- Access to Twitch Prime
- Early access deals for Amazon sales
Prime Video is fairly inclusive, but the lower-cost shipping rates alone can help you reduce your spending and effectively make the Prime Video and StackTV subscriptions pay for themselves.
StackTV Channels
Global TV is just one of a dozen channels’ content that you can get through StackTV. The full list of StackTV channels includes:
- GlobalTV
- History Channel
- Adult Swim
- Teletoon
- Slice
- Showcase
- HGTV Canada
- W Network
- Treehouse
- Food Network Canada
- National Geographic
- Y TV
For its part, Global TV maintains popular TV shows from an even larger number of international networks and brands, including US broadcast networks CBS, FOX, and ABC.
StackTV Features
The features you get with Stack TV are effectively the same that you get with Prime Video. To that end, the basic features include:
- Stream on up to 3 devices at once
- Data saver for mobile devices
- Amazon’s unique X-Ray that offers biographical information while you watch TV shows and movies
- Offline viewing (availability may vary by TV show)
You can learn more about Amazon Prime Video’s features through our more extensive Prime Video review.
StackTV Supported Devices
As StackTV is routing its content through Amazon Prime Video, you can stream Global TV without cable on any device that works with Prime Video.
The list of Prime Video supported devices includes:
- Amazon Fire TV
- iOS devices
- Android devices
- Samsung smart TVs
- Google Chromecast
- Some Blu-Ray devices
You can also stream Amazon Prime Video on most modern web browsers for Windows, macOS, and Linux computers.
Watch Global TV on RiverTV

RiverTV was one of the first cord-cutting services in Canada focuses specifically on live TV content. Considering the cord-cutting market in Canada is lagging behind what’s available in the US, RiverTV is pretty much a breath of fresh air in a market that’s still heavily focused on traditional cable and satellite TV access.
RiverTV Plans and Pricing
This service takes a fairly simplified approach ot its pricing and packages. You can sign up to RiverTV for CDN$ 16.99 per month and watch Global TV without cable alongside many other popular networks.
What’s more, since it’s release in 2020, RiverTV now offers add-on packages for subscribers that give you more channels to enjoy. Available addon packages include:
- Hollywood Suite ($3.99/month)
- Super Channel ($4.99/month)
- France 24 ($1.49/month)
- Mezzo Live ($1.49/month)
- Planete+ ($1.49/month)
- DuckTV ($1.99/month)
- ES1 ($1.49/month)
- i24 ($6.99/month)
- Nick+ ($5.99/month)
- Saisons ($1.49/month)
- TRT ARabi ($1.49/month)
Thankfully, Global TV comes with the standard subscription package, so you only need an add-on if you like the additional networks that are available through them.
RiverTV Channels
RiverTV Supported Devices
Another comparison to StackTV is the fact that RiverTV is a standalone service. The list of supported devices is smaller than what you’d get if you’re using StackTV through Prime Video, but it’s still fairly robust.
Watch RiverTV on the following devices:
- iOS devices
- Android devices
- Apple tV
- Android TV
- Amazon Fire TV
- Roku
- Windows, macOS, and (some) Linux browsers
RiverTV Simultaneous Streams
Watch RiverTV on up to 3 devices at once. That’s equivalent to what’s available through StackTV and many other cord-cutting services.
RiverTV DVR
Unfortunately, there’s no DVR option available through RiverTV. However, much of the live TV content is viewable through the on-demand library.
RiverTV On-Demand Library
While it advertises its live TV content first, RiverTV is undeniably an on-demand streaming provider giving access to Global TV content and many other services. There are thousands of hours of TV available through RiverTV, including movies and TV show episodes from channels across the world (and US networks, in particular).
RiverTV has two unique on-demand features not available for StackTV: Look Back and Pause and Restart.
The Look Back feature allows you to watch almost any live TV content on-demadn 48 to 72 hours after airing. There are channel limitations that exist with Look Back. With Pause and Restart, RiverTV allows you to paud live TV and start those broadcasts again without having to miss a second.
Watch Global TV on the Free Global TV App or Website

If you’re OK with limited access to content, you can watch full episode of TV shows through complete free the Global TV website or app. This option has significant limitations however.
- You’re limited to only Global TV-branded content
- New releases are only available for7 days without a paid account
- You cannot log into Global TV if you have a subscription to StackTV or RiverTV
With that in mind, Global TV is a good option for a quick jaunt through the service’s content. But if you want to enjoy its programming long-term, you’ll need to either sign up to a traditional cable provider, or access its content through StackTV or RiverTV.
Are There Alternatives to Get Global TV Content?
On the chance that you’re not thrilled about the options to get Global TV, your next best option is to explore streaming services that carry the TV shows and movies you’d find on Global TV from those same networks. We recommend you consider checking out Netflix, Paramount+, TubiTV, and CraveTV.
