How many people can I share my Netflix account with?

Netflix has recently cracked down on people’s ability to share their Netflix accounts with those outside of their households. If you try access someone else’s account outside of their home, a message will pop up stating that you’re not within the household, barring you from using the service.

You can pay to add members outside of your households, though. The standard tier allows you to add one extra person, while the premium tier allows you two extra people. If you have the money to spend, it’s a fair option. You could also just make the people outside of your home pay for it. Or not. Whatever works for you.

How may simultaneous streams come with Netflix?

The number of simultaneous streams you get depends on the subscription you choose. Both Standard tiers come with two streams. The premium tier allows for four simultaneous streams.

If you exceed your number of streams, you'll see the "Netflix streaming error" message along with an explanation that your account has exceeded your simultaneous stream limit.

Can I upgrade Netflix and add more streams?

No, there's no way to get beyond Netflix's four-stream limitation. Four simultaneous streams is the maximum amount of streams you can get.

Which devices can I use to watch Netflix?

Netflix has apps for just about every type of TV device, from smart TVs like Apple and Amazon Fire TV, to mobile devices like iPads and Android tablets, to video game consoles and more. For a full list of all devices, check out our guide on Netflix device support.
