The last big streaming video holdout could be coming to a streaming service near you. According to a new report from Multichannel News, the NFL has asked streaming video companies to bid on additional seasons of Thursday Night Football.
The request for proposals was sent out on December 20, with the responses due in January. Amazon was cited as a likely bidder, given that they already stream Thursday Night Football games through Amazon Prime Video.
NBC and CBS currently hold the broadcast rights for this segment of NFL games, paying a combined $450 million.
