It seems that cable TV services are only becoming more expensive. The quality of service hasn’t improved significantly, and it’s natural that people have started looking for alternatives. Internet streaming services offering live TV are your best option for enjoying top-quality channels without cable.
Sling TV and Vidgo made their offers attractive, and it’s not easy to choose the winner. This guide will compare these two services to give you detailed information and help you choose a platform that suits your preferences. Let’s begin.

Sling TV wins in pricing
Both services offer a good deal for the money, but we’d go with Sling TV because it offers more customization options. You can pick between Orange and Blue packages, and even if you choose both, it would still be cheaper than Vidgo on a monthly level. Thanks to the options of add-ons, you can customize your deal and get a more tempting channel structure at a great price.

No free trials offered here
Currently, neither service is offering a free trial, but Sling TV still takes the win here by offering half off your first month when you sign for any plan.
Vidgo offers more channels
If you observe the default channel lineup, Vidgo is the clear winner. You get over 110 channels in the English Plus package, and the list expands to over 150 with the Premium deal. On the other hand, despite its smaller included channel range, there’s no doubt that Sling TV has an impressive set of add-ons you can customize to your preference.
What to watch on Sling TV
The advantage of Sling TV is customization. Between the two basic channel packages, Orange and Blue, you’ll get a variety of standard cable channels like TNT, AMC, FX, and CNN.
If you go with the Blue package, you’ll receive USA, Fox Sports 1, MSNBC, TLC, and other channels focused on news and entertainment. If you go with the Orange plan, you’ll receive multiple ESPN and Disney channels. You’ll also find over 10,000 hours of content in the platform’s library with either package.
The add-ons are undoubtedly a fantastic advantage that Sling TV offers. There are seven Extras packages that you can mix and match, including Sports, Entertainment, Kids, News, Lifestyle, Hollywood, and Heartland. There’s also the Total TV Deal and 4 Extras Deal, giving you access to all seven or four chosen Extras, respectively. Also, check out the entire lineup of broadcasting stations in our Sling TV channel list.
What to watch on Vidgo
Vidgo has an impressive list of over 110+ default channels from all niches. They range from ABC and FOX to ESPN, Game Show Network, and Travel Channel. In addition, if you pick the upgraded packages, you unlock NFL Network, Discovery Life, MTV Classic, and several other channels.
As for the package available in the Spanish language, it has excellent sports coverage with ESPN Deportes, FOX Deportes, TYC Sports, etc. You can also expect movie channels and Fox Life. You can also watch on-demand content. The platform’s library contains over 10,000 hours of material and more than 14,000 titles.
Check out our Vidgo channel list to learn about the lineup of each package.
Sling TV offers decent DVR space
Sling TV is much better in this category since Vidgo only offers 20 hours of space with the Premium and Ultimate packages. You do get access to DVR space with the Plus package, but only for 90 days.
Sling TV offers 50 hours as long as you have a subscription to one of its packages. It should be enough for most users, but an upgrade costs only $5 per month if you need more. It allows cloud DVR storage of up to 200 hours. You can read our Sling TV DVR guide for more information.
Both services have great device support
It’s a close call here since both services have excellent device support. You can use them on Android and iOS devices, covering smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, iPhones, etc. In addition, the platforms work flawlessly on Chromecast, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.
Vidgo is a new service, so there’s still room to improve device support. Sling TV already does amazing work across all platforms and supports almost any device used for streaming. Check out our Sling TV device support guide to discover a complete list.
Vidgo offers more streams
It’s not easy to beat Sling TV since it’s one of the top streaming services, but Vidgo outperforms it in the simultaneous watching category. You always have up to three devices per account available, and it’s easy to manage them from the control panel.
The trick with Sling TV is that you get a single stream with the Orange package and three streams with the Blue plan. If you combine both, you’re still limited to 1 stream for channels that are in the Orange package.
Our takeaway: Sling is a better complete package
There are multiple reasons why Sling TV wins this comparison. First, it offers excellent channel customization. You can pick the preferred package and include multiple add-ons while keeping the price fairly affordable. The service provides excellent support for a wide range of devices and has DVR cloud storage of up to 200 hours.
You can still pick Vidgo as it’s a good service that performs well in every area. It’s a great choice if you want tons of channel options, as well as broadcasting capabilities in the Spanish language. The packages are a bit more expensive, but they have a lot to offer. Overall, it’s up to you and finding a service that fits your preference.
