HBO has yet to specify which platforms it will support at launch
The official HBO Max website only states that HBO Max “will be available on many popular devices” and that further details will be revealed in the months leading up to the service’s May 2020 debut.
HBO’s Amazon Prime subscribers can’t automatically switch to HBO Max
HBO has announced that everyone who subscribes to HBO Now through HBO will be able to access HBO Max for no extra cost at launch. However, if you subscribe to HBO Now through Amazon, switching to HBO Max will require some extra steps. You’ll have to cancel HBO on Amazon, and then sign up for HBO Max as if you were a new customer.
You could keep both services, but that wouldn’t make much sense. HBO Max is the same price as HBO Now, but it has much more content and improved features.
