Quibi is not available until April 2020, but you still may be wondering if you can watch it on your NVIDIA SHIELD. Find out everything you need to know about this all-new mobile-first streaming service now.
Quibi Is Not Available On NVIDIA SHIELD
You can’t watch Quibi on NVIDIA SHIELD. In fact, you can’t watch it on any device except an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet – not even your web browser.
Why? Because Quibi (short for “Quick Bites) is intended to be an alternative to traditional streaming services. It’s optimized for quick, short-form, on-the-go content between 7-10 minutes in length. It will even let you watch content in either landscape or portrait mode. For this reason, Quibi is only launching with iOS and Android support. It won’t support Android TV devices like NVIDIA SHIELD.
Will Quibi Ever Add NVIDIA SHIELD Support?
Probably not. Since Quibi is a mobile-only service, it doesn’t make any sense for it to add support for Android TV Devices like the NVIDIA SHIELD. The whole idea behind Quibi is that it’s meant to be a service for quick, on-the-go “bites” of content. Expanding support to Android TV and other living room streaming platforms doesn’t make much sense, so we think that future NVIDIA SHIELD support is quite unlikely.
