Google activated a new promotion for the holiday season. Anyone can get six free months of Netflix with Chromebooks from Google and Samsung. The offer applies to December purchases of the Google Pixelbook, Samsung Chromebook Plus or Samsung Chromebook Pro.
The most important part of this promotion is what you won’t find in the fine print. The offer is not limited to new Netflix subscribers. After your Chromebook purchase, you redeem the offer on the Chromebook Offers website. That generates a gift card code that you can redeem within your existing Netflix account.
Discounts on Any Netflix Plan
The promotion’s value covers the new $10.99-per-month pricing for the Two Screens + HD plan. That lets your household stream two 1080p high definition streams at a time. If you subscribe to a different Netflix plan, you can apply the total $65.94 value of the promotion to that plan.
That stretches the free service for the $7.99-per-month One Screen plan, which streams standard definition video, to eight months (plus a little left over to discount the ninth month). If you subscribe to the $13.99-per-month 4 Screens + UltraHD plan, then you get four free months (plus a discount on the fifth).
Google lets you layer separate promotions on top of the Netflix offer:
- $20 credit on the Google Play store (with purchase of a Samsung Chromebook Plus or Pro).
- 90-day unlimited trial of Google Play Music (with purchase of any Chromebook, new Google Play Music subscribers only).
- 100GB of Google Drive storage for two years (with purchase of any Chromebook).
- $60 credit for in-game purchases in the Asphalt 8 racing game (with purchase of any Chromebook).
The Netflix with Chromebooks offer expires December 31, 2017, so time’s running out.
