Based on the manga by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu! is an anime about Shouyou Hinata, a volleyball player with a love for the game. Eventually, Hinata’s friends join so they can compete in an upcoming tournament.
During the first game, the team suffers defeat to a more experienced team led by Tobio Kageyama, a prodigy setter and brutal player. This results in a short rivalry until we learn that the two attend the same high school, one that was once well-regarded for its volleyball program.
By combining Kageyama’s prodigy skills with Hinata’s incredible athletic ability, the duo creates a new sports tactic and a powerful setter-spiker partnership. This is an excellent watch for anybody who’s a fan of sports and anime!
