However, the two base packages focus mostly on HBO, which is included with the price, and major sports networks like ESPN and Fox Sports. AT&T TV Now offers a 20-hour cloud DVR, which is the smallest on the market among the top services. To make it worse, the service also limits you to just 30 days for your recordings. It’s currently the only service that both an hourly storage limit and a time limit.

Thankfully, this service has a 72-hour rewind feature in case you don’t want to use up your limited storage on some of your favorite shows or events. Your on-demand options extend beyond the 72-hour rewind, however. Most channels provide their own content through the service, with many seasons of popular shows available, as well as movies from movie channels.

Those who want FXM without cable may find PlayStation Vue will find PlayStation Vue offers significant value for the price, especially when compared to many of its rivals on the market. 

PlayStation Vue Pricing and Packages

PlayStation Vue offers between 45 and 80+ channels, depending on which package you choose.

To get FXM without cable through PlayStation Vue, you’ll need to sign up for the “Elite” package. At $59.99 per month, that’s a pretty tough sell, especially if your goal is to spend a lot less than you would with cable. The 80+ channels that come with that package are mostly popular networks, but it may be difficult to justify that price versus traditional cable, and especially in light of the competition.

PlayStation Vue Channels

There are channels aplenty through PlayStation Vue, covering a wide range of sports, entertainment and news.
