HBO’s heritage of quality original content combined with the deep WarnerMedia catalog makes Max one of the most popular streaming services in America. But unlike Netflix, the content in Max’s catalog isn’t permanent. It comes and goes as WarnerMedia licenses content to other streaming services. Keeping up with that kind of moving target requires resources that most developers don’t have. A Max API would let apps and websites provide streaming-aware features.
Is there an Max API?
Although Max has APIs for internal development, it does not make APIs available to outside developers. That’s understandable. Launching Max was not a trivial project. Reelgood is a company that offers a public Max API to developers and tech companies who don't want to have to stitch it together in-house and maintain up-to-date data as titles and licensing change.
