Unfortunately, Disney+ no longer offers a 7-day free trial, but the service still has a hard-to-beat price for the content you get. Below, we’ll quickly explore everything you need to know about Disney+ and why it no longer offers a free trial.
Before we continue, we want to highlight a featured deal. The Disney Bundle is one of the best options for streaming with a package that offers a rich catalogue of content for all ages including movies, shows, and sports.
Sign up below to get the whole bundle for only $13.99 a month or get Disney Plus standalone for $7.99.
What happened to the Disney+ free trial?
In late 2020, right before releasing its new Mulan live-action movie, Disney stopped offering the free trial option to its Disney+ streaming service. That means in 2022, you won’t be able to get a free trial for Disney+ unless the company decides to offer one again. That said, your paid subscription still includes all of the benefits, including its extensive simultaneous streaming policy.
How long is the Disney+ free trial?
Previously, the free trial that Disney+ offered was 7 days. If the company ever brings back the free trial, it will possibly do so with the same deal.
How do I sign up to try Disney+?
Even though Disney+ no longer offers a free trial in 2022, you can try it for a month and pay less than most streaming services out there, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and HBO Max.
Signing up for Disney+ is straightforward.

Disney+ requires the following information to sign-up:
- Email address
- Credit card
That’s it! Once you sign up, you’ll get an email from Disney+ noting that your free trial period has started. Disney+ only allows you to sign up for the free trial once per email address and credit card.
Can I cancel Disney+ without getting charged?
Disney+ is easy to cancel at any time during your current billing period. You’ll only be charged for your current period. There are no cancellation fees or penalties as long as you cancel before your next billing period starts. In fact, you can keep using Disney+ after you’ve canceled and continue watching until the paid period ends.
The basic steps to cancel include:
- Go to Account
- Click on Billing Details
- Select Cancel Subscription
Follow the cancellation prompts after that. You should get an email that indicates that you have successfully canceled your account. If not, make sure to double-check that you completed the process successfully, that you’re checking the correct email, or that the email didn’t land in your spam folder.

How much does Disney+ cost?
Even though it hasn’t been around for very long, like most streaming services, Disney+ is set to increase the price of its subscription on December 8. It’s also introducing a new ad-supported tier, which is a buck a month more expensive than the single-tier plan currently offered, which is ad-free. The ad-free plan will cost $3/month more than the ad-supported plan.
You can also choose to upgrade to the Disney Bundle which includes Hulu and ESPN+ at a considerable discount for all 3 services, even after the small price increase of a dollar that’s planned for December.
Disney+ Bundle $13.99/ Year | ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+. Bundle and save 25%. Amazing value for the whole family. 3 simultaneous streams | SIGN UP |
Disney+ Standalone $7.99/ month | 7,000+ TV episodes 500+ films Disney+ Originals 3 simultaneous streams | SIGN UP |
Disney+ Bundle (No Ads) $19.90/ month | Watch ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+. Bundle and save 25%. Amazing value for the whole family. 3 simultaneous streams | SIGN UP |
Other Great Streaming Services
Disney+ is great, but you may find that it doesn’t provide enough well-rounded content for the whole family.
Two additional options to consider are Hulu+Live TV and ESPN+.
With Hulu+Live TV, you get 90 live TV channels as well as access to the entire Hulu on-demand library. Hulu+Live TV offers 2 device streams per account and unlimited cloud DVR with no expiration dates on stored videos. It also includes Disney+ and ESPN+.
Meanwhile, ESPN+ offers live sports streaming from major US leagues, international leagues (especially for soccer), and exclusive access to UFC events. You can get this service for a modest $9.99 per month.
Sign up for Disney+ now and save
If you sign up for Disney+ before December 8, 2022, you can lock in the current price and get the annual ad-free plan for less than you’ll pay for the ad-supported plan after December 8th. (So far, an annual option for the ad-supported plan has not been announced.)
