If you’re considering a subscription to YouTube TV, you may be wondering about how much it costs. How much is a basic subscription? Are there any other fees? Is the price going up soon? In this guide to the price of YouTube TV in 2022, we’ll answer all of these questions and much more. Get all the details below, or check out our full YouTube TV review here.
How much does YouTube TV cost?
Currently, YouTube TV costs $64.99/month. For your money, you will get a total of 85+ channels, depending on your location, as well as some great features like 3 simultaneous streams and a 9-month unlimited cloud DVR. Though it’s a bit pricey, YouTube TV does have a great combination of channels and features. Click here for more information about YouTube TV’s plans.
When was the last time YouTube TV raised its prices?
YouTube TV last raised its prices in June 2020. At this time, prices were hiked by nearly 30%, and the service went from $49.99/month to $64.99/month. This was accompanied with some additional channels being added to the service, but this price hike may be hard for some customers to stomach.
Before this, the last time YouTube TV increased its prices was in early April 2019. At that time, the price jumped from $40/month to $49.99/month, and 9 new channels were added to the YouTube TV lineup.
This wasn’t the first time YouTube TV raised its prices, either. This service debuted at $35/month when it launched in 2017, and hiked its price to $40/month in March of 2018.
It seems likely that we will continue to see the price of YouTube TV increase on a yearly basis, or when it adds new channels.
Does YouTube TV have any paid add-ons?
Yes. While you won’t be able to upgrade your DVR or simultaneous streams, YouTube TV does have quite a few paid add-ons that give you additional premium channels like AMC Premiere, Fox Soccer Plus, NBA League Pass, Showtime, STARZ and more.
You also can get the YouTube TV 4K Plus add-on. This gets you unlimited at-home streams, 4K streams for supported content, and the ability to view DVR recordings offline on mobile devices (select channels only).
Does YouTube TV have extra hidden fees?
No, and that’s one of the best things about YouTube TV and other similar internet TV services. The price you see is the price you pay, with no exceptions.
Unlike a cable or satellite contract, there are no hidden fees or costs for terminating your subscription, or for the rental of equipment. All you have to pay is $64.99/month, plus any applicable taxes for your state. That’s it.
