Watch NCIS on DirecTV Now

DirecTV Now channel list
Source: DirecTV Now

Offering a 4-tiered package similar to PlayStation Vue, DirecTV Now is slightly cheaper than PS Vue but doesn’t have the lineup of features that it needs to make it that worthwhile for NCIS without cable.

DirecTV Now Pricing and Packages

Among half a dozen channel packages, the two cheapest offered through DirecTV Now are:

  • PLUS: 45+ channels, $50/month
  • MAX: 60+ channels, $70/month

CBS is available through either, so we recommend the PLUS package if you opt for DirecTV Now to get NCIS live.

To learn more about DirecTV Now’s pricing and packages, click here.

DirecTV Now Channels

DirecTV Now ultimately has the largest number of channels with any service if you go all out. You’ll also pay over $100 per month if you do. Still, the cheapest option offers every major local broadcast network in most areas, as well as popular cable networks, including HGTV and AMC.

Click here to learn more about DirecTV Now’s channels.

DirecTV Now Supported Devices

On the positive end, DirecTV Now supports just about every streaming device, from iOS and web browsers to Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, and Chromecast, so most streaming devices you can think of will likely have a native app.

Here’s a full list of available apps:

  • TV streaming media players: Apple TV (4th gen and up, 5th gen and up for 4K), Amazon Fire TV (2nd gen and up, 1st gen for Cube), Chromecast (2nd gen and up), Roku (most models)
  • Smart TVs: Samsung TV (2017 and 2018 models), Android TV (4.4 and up), Roku TV (7000X), Mi TV, Amazon Fire TV edition smart TV (2nd gen and up), Chromecast Built-in TV
  • Gaming consoles: None
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android (5.0 and up),  iOS (10 and up), Amazon Fire (tablets)
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome and Safari recommended

Click here to learn more about DirecTV Now’s supported devices.

DirecTV Now Simultaneous Streams

You’ll get 2 simultaneous streams, which is fairly standard, and you can add a third for $5 per month extra.

To learn more about DirecTV Now’s streaming policy, click here.

DirecTV Now DVR

You’ll only get a 20-hour cloud DVR, which is the lowest of all of these services that offer DVR. And that DVR has a 30-day limit on recordings, so it’s doubly bad.

Click here to learn more about DirecTV Now’s DVR.

DirecTV Now On-Demand Library

The large number of channels through DirecTV Now means it has a large library of on-demand content to offer. The service also provides some content on-demand that you won’t find in regular channel packages, especially if you choose PLUS or MAX. That’s because PLUS and MAX offer HBO, which means you’ll get more movies and HBO’s original content. DirecTV Now also works to unlock content in some channels’ individual websites and apps.

Check here to learn more about DirecTV Now’s on-demand library.

How to Watch NCIS on Amazon Fire TV

You can watch NCIS on Amazon Fire TV using apps for the following services: fuboTV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV, CBS All Access, YouTube TV, DirecTV Now, and Locast. The Amazon app store has each of these apps easily available for download. You can also download the Netflix app onto the Amazon Fire TV and subscribe to Netflix if you want to view previous seasons of NCIS.

How to Watch NCIS on Roku

You can watch NCIS on the Roku using apps for the following services: fuboTV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV, CBS All Access, YouTube TV, DirecTV Now, and Locast. The Roku Channels store has each app available for immediate download. If you want to use Netflix for past episodes of NCIS, there’s also a Roku app for that service as well.

How to Watch NCIS on Apple TV

You can watch NCIS on the Apple TV using apps for the following services: fuboTV, PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV, CBS All Access, YouTube TV, DirecTV Now, and Locast. All apps are available from the Apple app store for free. Netflix subscribers can also use Netflix on the Apple TV to watch previous seasons.

Additional Options to Get NCIS Without Cable

The above options are the best places to start for NCIS live and on-demand streams, as they offer multiple benefits and a huge amount of support in the market. They’re not the options, however. These additional avenues are also possible ones to explore.

  • Locast: A free internet streaming service that offers OTA broadcast network streams over the web. This service is only available in a few select cities and requires location verification to stream.
  • Netflix: Netflix has purchased streaming rights from CBS, so you can find over a dozen past seasons of NCIS on Netflix in the US.

Use an OTA Antenna to Get NCIS Without Cable

Over-the-air digital antenna: If you have an OTA antenna, you can likely pick up NCIS live through CBS broadcasts. And if you pair it with a device like Tablo, you can even record your favorite episodes.

Digital antennas cost money, but you only have a one-time cost in purchasing the equipment (antenna, digital receiver, optional DVR). Some cord-cutting services, such as Sling TV, actually sell OTA devices at a discount and offering them as a pairing for their online streaming options.
