YouTube is now more than just cat videos. Google split off a live TV service from the normal YouTube service, and it’s a sports-heavy option that’s great for Detroit Pistons fans.

YouTube TV Pricing and Packages

There’s a single channel package option available for $49.99 per month. YouTube TV takes a similar approach to Hulu with Live TV, but its service is currently offered at a lower price (and the lowest price on our list).

You can learn more about YouTube TV’s pricing here.

YouTube TV Channels

For the cost, you’ll get 70+ channels, to include Fox Sports Detroit for those living in the Pistons’ broadcast region. YouTube TV is particularly heavy on the sports networks, so you’ll find other must-have options for sports fans available, such multiple ESPN networks, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, NBA TV, Fox Sports 1 and 2, NESN, Big Ten Network, Golf Channel, Tennis Channel, and more. As well, dozens of entertainment, lifestyle, and news networks are available through the package.

YouTube TV DVR

Google’s live TV service takes a different approach to DVR. You can also create 6 separate profiles, all of which get individual unlimited storage.

YouTube TV On-Demand Library

Watch the Detroit Pistons on NBA League Pass

Detroit Pistons live without cable

If you live outside of the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast region, but still want to watch the Detroit Pistons Live without cable, your best and only option (in the US, anyway) is NBA League Pass. This service offers either single-team or all-team subscription packages for the current NBA season. Pricing is comparable to 3-4 months of one of the services listed above, making it pricey, but a good alternative for NBA super fans.

Package options include:

  • All Teams, No Commercials: $39.99 per month, or $249.99 per year
  • All Teams (with commercials): $28.99 per month, or $199.99 per year
  • Single Team (with commercials): $17.99 per month, or $119.99 per year

Note that blackout restrictions apply. Any team that is available on another service in your region will have those games blacked out through NBA League Pass. For example, those living in the Detroit region would have Pistons games blacked out so long as those games are only available on Fox Sports Detroit.
