Sling TV Supported Devices

Given how long Sling TV has been around, it isn’t surprising that the streaming service has apps for a wider range of devices than most of its competitors.

  • Living room devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku and Facebook Portal.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Models based on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku. Also, certain models from LG and Samsung.

The streaming service formerly known as DirecTV Now is one of the more expensive ways to become a cord-cutter. AT&T TV Now’s biggest strength — its comprehensive channel listing — suffers from the absence of the NFL Network.

AT&T TV Now Pricing and Packages

The cheapest plans AT&T TV Now offers are barely competitive with other streaming services. Getting the channels you actually want, however, may force you into one of the more expensive plans which can cost as much as $135 per month.

AT&T TV Now Local Channels & Regional Sports Networks

AT&T TV Now supports live streams from local ABC, CBS, CW, Fox, NBC and Telemundo stations. You will have to sign up for the free trial to see which of the Cincinnati-area stations you can stream — AT&T TV Now’s zip code lookup tool stopped working in mid-2019.

AT&T TV Now Supported Devices

App support for AT&T TV Now is limited to the largest streaming platforms. However, Roku dropped support for the AT&T TV Now app in early 2020.

Watch on Yahoo! Sports

Yahoo! Sports has an arrangement with the NFL to let you watch live football games on the Yahoo! Sports apps for smartphones and tablets. The app uses your device’s location services to limit your viewing to  your local team as well as games broadcast on the over-the-air networks. However, you’ll also get playoff games and the Super Bowl.

Watch on Amazon Prime Video

If you are an Amazon Prime subscriber, then you’ll have access to a few live streams of NFL games throughout the season. Starting in late September, Amazon Prime Video will stream its own broadcast of Thursday Night Football. However, the Bengals aren’t scheduled for any Thursday night games this year.

Use an OTA Antenna

In the modern streaming age, people forget that CBS, Fox and NBC all broadcast their content using good, old-fashioned TV signals. An inexpensive HDTV antenna like the Mohu Leaf could be all you need to get the game on your big-screen TV. However, you can go a step further by getting a digital TV tuner. This will convert the broadcast signal to a digital stream on your home network.

Watch the NFL App

With some restrictions, the National Football League’s app lets you watch local games and games networks broadcast at primetime. You also get on-demand highlight videos, drive charts and other features that enhance your football experience.

The NFL app is free to use, but getting access to some features may require you to sign in with your TV provider’s login credentials. For example, if your pay-TV provider includes the NFL Network and NFL RedZone, then you’ll be able to stream that content as well.

If you subscribe to NFL Game Pass, you can access all of that content through the NFL app. Although you don’t get access to live games, you do get full replays of every NFL game as soon as each game ends. The annual fee is $100.

You’ll find the NFL app available for the following devices:

  • Living room devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV and Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Televisions based on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, or Roku
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
  • Desktop browsers: Any modern browser.

However, you can only watch one game at a time. In addition, the mobile version of the NFL App won’t let you use AirPlay or Chromecast to send a live game’s stream to another device.
