The Duttons returned to the small screen on November 13. The two-hour Season 5 premiere airs on Paramount Network at 8:00 p.m. ET—but if you’ve cut the cord, no need to panic.

If you’re a Philo subscriber, you’ll be able to watch Yellowstone live every Sunday as it airs on Paramount Network, as well as on-demand afterwards. All you’ll need to do is sign into your account on Paramount Network’s website and tune in live or search your Philo on-demand library if you’re catching up after it has aired.

It’s our top pick because not only is Philo on the more affordable side when it comes to streaming services, but it also carries over 60,000 titles in its on-demand library, and offers tons of premium features.

Why Philo?

Philo has a lot of self-awareness in the fact that many of its new users have come solely for the sake of watching Yellowstone. In fact, many Americans weren’t even aware of its existence until earlier this year, when Philo was the only place you could watch season 4 of Yellowstone.

Therefore, they’ve made it their mission to make the experience as seamless and attractive as possible for those new subscribers.

Top 3 features

Philo is notorious for its fantastic low cost-per-channel ratio, filled with entertainment-focused channels. In short, you won’t be stuck with the channels that no one wants to watch. You’ll get over 60+ channels, including AMC, Comedy Central, Discovery, TLC, History, HGTV, Vice, and more.

7 day trial
Only $25 a month

Another great feature with Philo is its surprisingly consistent high quality HD streaming, both with live TV and on-demand content. In our experience with Philo, you won’t experience many buffering or loading issues—only slightly when you’re rewinding a live broadcast.

Philo also offers unlimited 1-year DVR and 3 simultaneous streams. At its low price point, it’s impressive to see features like these.

The 5th season of Yellowstone won’t be immediately available on Peacock, but it’s expected to be added in the near future—the dates have yet to be announced, but we’re estimating early Summer 2023. In the meantime, Peacock is the only place you can watch seasons 1-4 of Yellowstone.

Reasons to choose

Beyond Peacock being the only place you can watch prior seasons of Yellowstone, there are some other great selling points for subscribing.

Firstly, a paid Peacock subscription won’t break the bank. If you want to watch Yellowstone without ads, it’ll only cost you a few extra dollars than it would if you didn’t mind ads—even then, it’s much cheaper than most streaming services.

You get thousands of hours of content in its on-demand library, including NBC hits like The Office, Chicago Fire, and Law & Order SVU, and a good selection of live sports, entertainment, and documentary channels to explore.

Finally, Peacock offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers—so if you’re looking for a way to binge all 4 seasons of Yellowstone while testing out the streaming service, here it is.

Reasons to skip

Peacock is a great streaming service for its price, but it’s not perfect. Its search function could be improved upon—currently, you can only search through all of its content and channels by using a title, genre or live event. Its interface can also be a bit slow and sluggish at times, but stream quality is quite consistent.

But most importantly, skip Peacock if you don’t want to have to wait another few months at a minimum to be able to watch Yellowstone season 5.

Sling TV is a pricier option than the others mentioned in this list, but it comes with the ability to watch season 5 of Yellowstone live on Paramount Network, along with a ton of other Western dramas.

Reasons to choose

We won’t go too much into detail about Sling TV here (you can check out our Sling TV review for a full breakdown). In short, you’ll need the Comedy Extra add-on ($6/month) to your base Sling Blue or Sling Orange package in order to get Paramount Network. You’ll also get on-demand access to the Yellowstone prequel 1883, as well as other popular Western dramas like Longmire and Bonanza.

Reasons to skip

It was recently announced that Sling TV will be raising its prices by $5 as of December 3, 2022. They justified this price increase by saying that they’ll be adding about 150 new channels through 2023, but it’s up to you whether this once budget-friendly alternative to streaming is still worth it.

If you live in Canada, Paramount+ will be the exclusive home to Yellowstone season 5. The two-episode season premiere will drop on the streaming service on November 13.

You’ll also be able to watch episodes of Yellowstone’s prequel, 1883, on Paramount+. You’ll also find a ton of other hit series, popular blockbuster films, kids programming, and all for the reasonable price of CAD $9.99/month. The Paramount+ app is available on most streaming devices and Smart TVs.

Paramount+ offers a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Click here to get started.

The two-hour Season 5 of Yellowstone premiere airs November 13 on Paramount Network at 8:00 p.m. ET.

If you have cable or are subscribed to a streaming service that offers Paramount Network, like Philo or Sling TV, just tune into the channel at the same time every Sunday for new episodes.

If you opt for Peacock, it’s still unsure when episodes of the new season of Yellowstone will become available. In the past, it has been a few weeks after the season finale. The 5th season is anticipated to be split into two 7-episode parts. There is yet to be a release date for part 2, and since this is the first time Yellowstone airs its season in this split-season fashion, it’s uncertain whether they’ll drop part 1 on Peacock first, or wait until part 2 comes out as well, which is speculated to be around Spring 2023. Only time will tell.

There are a few different ways you can watch Yellowstone season 5.

Let’s summarize:

  • Philo: Best and cheapest way to watch Yellowstone season 5 live every week.

  • Peacock: Only way to watch Yellowstone seasons 1-4, but you’ll likely have to wait until early Summer 2023 to be able to watch season 5.

  • Sling TV: Great way to watch Yellowstone season 5 live every week, along with other popular Western dramas in its on-demand library, including 1883.

If you’ve cut the cord and don’t want to subscribe to any streaming service, you can also purchase the 5th season of Yellowstone on Amazon Prime, iTunes or Vudu.
