Why You Can't Watch Fox Sports Tennessee Live Without Cable

If you live in Tennessee and you want to watch Grizzlies and Predators games on Fox Sports Tennessee, then you'll need a cable subscription because none of the streaming services carry that channel. With a cable subscription, you can stream through the Fox Sports Go app.

Fox agreed to sell most of its TV business to Disney in 2019, but regulators forced Fox to sell them to the Sinclair Broadcast Group. And then Sinclair decided to raise its prices. Sling TV rejected the deal in late 2019 and Fubo dropped the RSNs a few months later.

Hulu with Live TV kept the Fox RSNs streaming through October 2020. But Sinclair's terms were too much and Hulu dropped Fox Sports RSNs. Sports fans suffer, but Hulu with Live TV is still a competitive alternative to cable with more than seventy channels and a huge on-demand library.

When the pandemic broke out, YouTube TV negotiated an extension to its deal with Sinclair. That allowed the service to keep streaming regional sports through the 2020 major league seasons. Once big-league sports was over, YouTube TV dropped the Fox RSNs as well.

Both apps require a cable-TV subscription in order to unlock the live streams.
