At this time, Sling doesn’t have a free trial for their full-featured live TV service. A free trial of Sling TV is not possible, however Sling TV is currently offering half off your first month of the streaming service.
If you’re not interested in signing up for Sling, there is an entirely free version of Sling TV called Sling Free that allows you to watch on-demand content and select live TV channels. Most of the live content on Sling Free consists of reruns of old movies and TV shows. If you’re looking for a test run of the full-featured version of Sling TV, we recommend signing up using the introductory offer of half off for the first month.

Sling TV Current Deals
Currently, Sling TV isn’t offering a free trial of their full-featured streaming service. Instead, they’re promoting a sign-up offer for new subscribers. Your first month of Sling TV will only cost you half with either the Orange, Blue, and Orange and Blue package. The Orange and Blue packages mainly differ in the selection of channels that they include. After your first month of service with any of the packages, your recurring monthly bill will go up to $35 or $50 depending on your plan.
What can you watch with Sling TV?
As we’ve mentioned, Sling TV isn’t currently offering a free trial of their paid TV streaming service. If you want to check out Sling Free, their free streaming option, you’ll find a variety of on-demand TV shows and movies, as well as some options for live broadcasting. Most of the on-demand shows and movies on Sling Free are older options that probably weren’t considered blockbusters in their day. However, you’ll gain access to a few gems like Rick and Morty and The Illusionist.
The “live” TV available on Sling Free is much like the on-demand content, mainly consisting of reruns of older, lesser-known TV shows and movies. We didn’t spot any live sports or new TV episodes on Sling Free. To access more traditional live TV channels like ESPN, TBS, or TLC, you’ll need to subscribe to Sling TV.
How much is Sling TV?

If you opt for one of the lower-tier packages (the Orange or Blue package), you’ll pay half for the first month and $35 per month thereafter. If you select their top-of-the-line package, the Orange & Blue package, it will cost you $25 for the first month and $50 each month after that.
- Sling TV (Orange Package): half off the first month, $35 per month after
- Sling TV (Blue Package): half off the first month, $35 per month after
- Sling TV (Orange & Blue Package): half off the first month, $50 per month after
Sling TV also offers channel packages that you can add to each of the options listed above. These add-ons group similar channels together based on content. If you’re looking for extra sports channels, you can select the Sports Extra package for an additional $11 per month. If you like to keep up-to-date on current events, you can add the News Extra package for an additional $6 per month. Premium channels like Showtime and Stars are also available for an additional charge.

Is Sling TV worth it?
Sling TV is a great option for audiences who want to enjoy the perks of live TV without being tied to expensive, long-term cable contracts. With a great selection of channels, access to local programming, and a range of sports content, Sling TV is excellent for those who are ready to cut the cord, but not yet ready to cut ties with their favorite live TV programming.Â
Sling Free will give you a good idea of the platform’s capabilities and interface but not a great representation of the breadth of entertainment you can enjoy. However, their current introductory offer is certainly worth exploring to get an idea of the content the platform offers, especially at just $10 for your first month.
