The three British motorheads who brought us Top Gear– Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May– are back.  After a long wait, The Grand Tour is finally revved up and rolling.  Critics are saying that the trio’s brand new show is even “bigger, brighter and more blow-upier” than their previous effort.  The only problem is that you have to sign up for Amazon Prime to tune in– that is, unless you have The Grand Tour addon.

The Grand Tour for Kodi: Review

The Grand Tour for Kodi has everything you could possibly want in an addon.  It has a user-friendly menu, reliable streams, the ability to switch to HD feeds plus lots of extras like behind-the-scenes video clips, an interview with the producer Andy William and more.

Let’s take a look at The Grand Tour’s menu pages

Many Kodi addons contain good content, but fail when it comes to organization.  The Grand Tour addon’s menu, however, is both nice looking and straight to the point.

The simple main menu contains three options: favourites, extras and series 1.  The show’s hosts appear in the background.  There’s also a small promo graphic that goes with each main menu option, which appears on the right side of the screen.

The “series 1” menu is where you’ll want to go to get access to the main content– the episodes.  SD, HD and 1080p streams are available.

Excellent quality HD video feeds

None of the links generated errors when I tested them out and the show looked very sharp in 1080p.

Plenty of Extras

The extras menu has lots of behind-the-scenes footage, an interview with the producer plus loads of other goodies for hardcore fans.

Unfortunately, you won’t find any Top Gear content here

Like its name suggests, this addon only has The Grand Tour content.  If you’re looking for Top Gear episodes, you won’t find any here.  Other than that, this addon is flawless.

Pros:

  • Behind-the-scenes content and interviews
  • All the links currently work
  • Choose from HD, SD and 1080p feeds
  • The content is organized well
  • The menu looks nice and is decorated with promo images

Cons:

  • No links to Top Gear content
  • David Gates
