Today Hisense and Fox Sports announced plans to let select smart TV owners enjoy free 4K streaming of the 2018 FIFA World Cup via a new World Cup version of the Fox Sports Go app.
The FOX Sports GO: 2018 FIFA World Cup Edition app will only be available on Hisense products. The app will deliver multiple FIFA feeds and allow fans follow specific teams. In addition, Hisense customers will be able to switch between various viewing angles – including aerial shots – during each match. All of the app’s feeds will be in 4K.
The first live match to appear on the app will be the opening contest between Russia and Saudi Arabia on June 14.
“This summer, the best seat for experiencing the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be in your own living room,” Hisense USA Vice President of Marketing Mark Viken announced.
But There’s A Catch
Hisense’s announcement says the app will be available exclusively on “select Hisense Smart TV models.” The only “select model” mentioned in the announcement is the company’s 100″ 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV, which costs $10,000.
