HBO Max costs $14.99/month in the United States
You can purchase HBO Max in the US in one of several ways.
- First, there’s a solo subscription directly from the HBO Max website. This will cost you $14.99 per month.
- The second-best method to get HBO Max is through an DirecTV Stream subscription. It’s included as part of the package if you purchase the Premier package.
- The third method to get HBO Max is an as add-on channel with other live TV streaming services. You can add HBO Max to your Hulu + Live TV or YouTube TV packages for $14.99 per month.
HBO Max is also available through Amazon Prime Channels or Apple TV Channels. The cost, again, is $14.99 per month for both routes. With these options, you can also simply download the app and log in to your existing HBO Max account if you’ve created an account directly with HBO Max through the official website.

How to renew HBO Max plans and subscriptions
Your HBO Max subscription will automatically renew at the end of the subscription period (month-to-month). If you’re subscribed to HBO Max through another service, like YouTube TV, or Hulu + Live TV, you’ll need to go into the settings to cancel your subscription.
