fuboTV vs Peacock in 2022 – 6 Things You Need to Know

Watching TV is one of the quintessential bonding activities for a family. From the kids gathering around the tube to catch Saturday morning cartoons to date night for mom and dad. The TV has practically always been a part of a family.

But is there still a need for cable in this day and age?

These days, there are a ton of on-demand streaming services to choose from. You don’t have to rely on a cable schedule to catch your favorite shows. But you’re missing out on some things without cable. For example, you can’t catch any season premiers, nor can you see any live events. You’ll have to wait for replays if you aren’t on a cable subscription.

But what if we told you that you could have both?

With internet TV services, you can watch anything whenever you want and catch all the live events. Platforms like fuboTV and Peacock can provide you with all these benefits.

To help you choose the service that best fits your needs, we’ll break down the differences between fuboTV and Peacock.

fuboTV and Peacock Free Trials

With fuboTV, you get a week-long free trial period. You can test out all the features available to paid subscribers during the free trial. From all the channels available to DVR storage, you’ll have free reign of all fuboTV features. If you’re satisfied with the service, you don’t have to do anything. Just keep enjoying all the content available, and the bill will arrive in the following month.

As for Peacock, the platform doesn’t offer any free trials. However, it does come with a free subscription tier. Free subscribers will have access to most of Peacock’s content library but will have to sit through 5-minute ads every other hour.

With both of these platforms having a form of free trials, you’ll get ample time to decide whether fuboTV or Peacock is good for you.

#1 – Pricing

The first thing any new subscriber has to consider is the price of a service. Is what you’re paying for worth your investment? To give you an idea of what fuboTV and Peacock have to offer, let’s take a look at their subscription models.

fuboTV Subscriptions

Before March 2022, fuboTV had 3 main subscription tiers. But, after March 2022, fuboTV phased out the Starter Plan, which was the basic tier.

Currently, there are 2 main fuboTV plans to choose from:

  • Pro Plan – For $69.99/month, you’ll get access to over 118 channels and the fuboTV on-demand content vault.
  • Elite Plan – For $79.99/month, you’ll get all of the Pro Plan’s features with an additional 50 channels to watch.

Peacock Subscriptions

Aside from the free tier, Peacock offers 2 different subscription tiers:

  • Premium – You can watch Peacock’s on-demand library, live sports events, including the WWE Network, and next-day access to current NBC programs for just $4.99/month.
  • Plus – You get all the Premium plan features with the added benefit of ad-free content and the ability to download content for offline viewing, all for just $9.99/month.

With Peacock, you’ll get the benefits of internet TV for a very low price.

#2 – Channels

Another of your primary concerns when choosing an internet TV platform should be its channel line-up. Ultimately, if you can’t watch your favorite channels, then there would be no point in subscribing to an internet TV service in the first place.

fuboTV Channels

fuboTV’s main selling point is its extensive list of sports channels. If you’re an avid sports fan, you’ll feel at home with fuboTV.

Some highlights of fuboTV’s channel library include:

  • ABC
  • AMC
  • beIN Sports
  • BET

Peacock Channels

  • Black-led Cinema
  • Black Stories

With Peacock, you’ll never get bored thanks to its diverse channel library.

#3 – Simultaneous Streaming

As stated earlier, TV time is a bonding event for the entire family. But that doesn’t mean it can’t cause discord. After all, fighting for TV time is another common sight for every family. With the simultaneous streaming feature, arguing over who gets to watch the TV will be a thing of the past.

Peacock Simultaneous Streaming

When it comes to simultaneous streaming, Peacock can compete with the best of them.

All Peacock subscribers are capped to a 3-device limit for simultaneous streaming. That means the kids can watch their cartoons while mom and dad enjoy their company while watching some movies.

There are currently no options for increasing the device limit for simultaneous streaming, but we will update this guide once Peacock introduces an add-on.

fuboTV Simultaneous Streaming

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a service that out-paces fuboTV when it comes to simultaneous streaming. When you subscribe to fuboTV, you can stream from up to 10 devices at the same time. Normally, you’d have to pay extra for a limit like that, but the 10-device limit is available to all fuboTV subscribers.

When you subscribe to fuboTV, you’ll never have to worry about fighting over TV time ever again.

#4 – DVR

Missing out on an NBA highlight reel or the Superbowl can be heartbreaking. For this reason, DVR is an important feature to consider. If you can record live TV, you won’t have to worry about missing out on TV moments.

Peacock DVR

As of writing, Peacock doesn’t have any DVR features for recording live TV. But, Peacock Plus subscribers can download all their favorite content from Peacock’s on-demand library. Because of this, you can watch all your favorite movies and TV shows without worrying about a network connection.

From long-plane rides to a “Peacock and chill” date, Peacock has got you covered.

fuboTV DVR

You can count DVR as another feather to fuboTV’s cap. After all, with a DVR limit of 1000 hours, you’ll literally have a month and a half of storage to work with.

Besides outliers that offer unlimited DVR, fuboTV has the biggest storage limit of any platform.

#5 – On-demand Library

Back when cable TV was our only option, we were at the mercy of the TV schedule. If you missed your favorite movie, you’d have to wait until you’re lucky enough to find another channel that airs it. But these days, on-demand content lets us watch what we want when we want.

So, how do fuboTV and Peacock stack up when it comes to on-demand content?

With fuboTV, you won’t find as deep a content library compared to industry leaders like Netflix. But, you don’t have to worry about missing out on anything with fuboTV. You’ll find a healthy selection of series and movies in fuboTV’s on-demand content vault.

When you subscribe to fuboTV, you can expect to enjoy a healthy selection of on-demand content.

Peacock On-demand Content

As mentioned earlier, Peacock is a service that focuses on NBC programming. This means you can catch many NBC hits like F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Everybody Loves Raymond on Peacock’s media vault. Plus, you’ll get access to hours upon hours of pro-wrestling goodness thanks to the WWE Network inclusion with a Peacock subscription.

With Peacock, you’ll find shows that can fit any mood.

#6 – Device Support

When selecting an internet TV streaming platform, you have to consider how you’re gonna watch it. If the platform doesn’t support any of your devices, well you just wasted your money. So, how do Peacock and fuboTV rank when it comes to the devices they support?

fuboTV Device Support

You won’t have to worry about fuboTV when it comes to device support. You can expect all modern devices to have an app for fuboTV. Some devices that include fuboTV device support are:

  • Living Room Devices: Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Chromecast, and Roku
  • Smart TVs & Blu-ray players: Samsung Smart TV, Vizio TV, HiSense, and LG TV
  • Mobile devices & Tablets: Android and iOS
  • Game Consoles: Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X
  • Desktop Browsers: Chromium-based browsers

From a smartphone to maybe even a smartwatch, you’ll get to watch your favorite content on fuboTV.

Peacock Device Support

Peacock won’t lose to fuboTV when it comes to device support. The platform has an app that will work with almost every modern device:

  • Living Room Devices: Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Chromecast, and Roku

These days cable TV is a relic of the past that you won’t miss.

With internet TV platforms like Peacock and fuboTV, you won’t have to worry about missing out on the latest TV events. When you subscribe to either of these, you’ll get to watch most if not all of your favorite channels, all with features like offline viewing and simultaneous streaming.
