As a Valentine’s Day love-letter to its users, fuboTV announced yesterday it had expanded its local TV options. The sports-centric streaming now offers 193 local affiliates through its expanding TV lineup.

For the Love of Sports

According to fuboTV, it’s recent local TV affiliate growth has resulted in extensive coverage across the U.S. Among the 193 local affiliates now available through the service 45 new FOX locales are now available.

fuboTV’s support for the three broadcast networks in its service is edging closer to nationwide coverage:

  • FOX: 75% coverage for U.S. households
  • NBC: 72% coverage for U.S. households
  • CBS: 62% coverage for U.S. households

The new additions include a number of major metropolitan areas. For NBC, this includes Richmond, VA; Indianapolis, IN; and Wilmington, DE. For CBS, major locations include Madison, WI; Colorado Springs, CO; and Toledo, OH.

Disney is Still Giving the Cold Shoulder

At this time, Disney’s lineup of channels remains absent. fuboTV has yet to convince Disney to offer its ESPN sports network on the platform. And because Disney owns ABC as well, that means fuboTV users still cannot access local ABC affiliates or either.

In comparison, other OTT services managed to eke out deals with Disney. ESPN and local ABC affiliates are available through DirecTV NOW, PlayStation Vue, and Sling TV.

Still, Disney’s reluctance to acknowledge fuboTV has not stemmed the company’s growth. The service passed 100,000 subscribers as recently as October 2017.
