Read on to find out the best ways to watch Fox Sports 2 without cable.

Unlike most streaming TV services, fuboTV isn’t backed by a major corporation. It’s a startup that launched in 2015 as a sports-only service. Since then, fuboTV has expanded its offerings to become a full-featured cable TV replacement. Channels you can get through fuboTV include not only sports channels like FS2, but also FX, National Geographic, Cartoon Network and many more family-friendly cable TV staples.

Fans of fuboTV like its sports-centric focus, slick apps and low latency streams. Another reason to try fuboTV: high definition streams. The streaming service recently started broadcasting some events in 4k and many fuboTV channels broadcast in 1080p or 720p.

Channels and pricing

Roughly half of fuboTV’s channels are sports channels. In addition to those, you also get a full range of general entertainment channels. Be sure to enter your zip code into the fuboTV website first before you join to find out exactly how many channels you can get.

The main downside of fuboTV is that it lacks ESPN channels. FS2, however, is on the menu. You also get several sports channels that other streaming services don’t carry.

Since its inception, fuboTV has always tried to offer the best quality streams possible. fuboTV was one of the first streaming services to begin streaming content in 1080p. Now, fuboTV is beginning to roll out not only 4k streams but several interesting new interface enhancements as well. fuboTV’s software engineers are reportedly working on a new feature called synthetic streams.

Another benefit of fuboTV is the fact that your fuboTV credentials will unlock Fox Sports Go and many other cable TV apps that are compatible with TV Everywhere. fuboTV’s excellent TV Everywhere compatibility makes it easier to watch what you want to watch when you want to watch it if you share your account with your roommates or family members.

This brings us to one of the biggest feature downsides of fuboTV: its two-stream-at-a-time account sharing limit. If more than one other person is streaming fuboTV through your account, you’ll run into an error message when you try to watch TV. The silver lining in this limitation is that the two-stream restriction does not apply to TV Everywhere apps.

fuboTV has apps for Apple TV, iOS, Android, Chromecast, Roku and Amazon Fire TV. You can also watch fuboTV with any type of web browser.

  • Living room devices: Android TV, Apple TV, Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Devices based on Fire TV, Roku and Android TV.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: None.
  • Desktop browsers: fuboTV recommends Chrome.

Sling TV

If fuboTV’s lack of support for ESPN is a deal breaker, you may want to give Sling TV a spin. It was one of the first cable replacers to hit the market– and it’s still one of the most customizable streaming services out there. Once you choose a base package, you can choose from a wide variety of different channel add-on packs. Another selling point of Sling TV is its inexpensive plans.

Channels and pricing

Sling TV offers two base plans: Sling Orange and Sling Blue. Both plans cost $25, but you can get both together for $40. Sling Blue includes not only FS2 but also FS1, NBC Sports Network and several other sports channels. If you want even more sports action, you can get the Sports Extra for an extra $5.

One potential downside of Sling TV is that it opted to not make deals with many local TV broadcast stations. However, Sling TV will send you a free RCA HDTV over-the-air TV antenna if you pre-pay for two months of service.

Sling TV does have a cloud DVR that lets you record live TV programs while you’re away. However, you have to pay $5 extra each month to access it. Another annoyance: you can’t record ESPN or any other Disney-owned channel. You can, however, record FS2 sports content.

Disney also slapped account sharing limits on the channels that they let Sling TV broadcast. The max simultaneous stream limit for the Disney channels is one device at a time. The simultaneous stream limit for other Sling TV channels is three devices.

One category that Sling TV excels in is device compatibility. Sling TV’s head start has allowed it to create apps for many TV devices that other streaming services don’t support. Sling TV’s TV Everywhere support is quite good as well.

  • Living room devices: Azulle Mini PC Sticks, Air TV Player, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku and Xaomi Mi TV.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Models based on Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku. Also, certain models from LG and Samsung.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Amazon Fire tablets, Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome.

DirecTV Now

DirecTV Now represents AT&T’s attempt to compete in the streaming service space. At first, DirecTV Now seemed like a half-baked effort. However, that changed in 2017 with the release of DirecTV Now 2.0. The revamped cable replacer now comes equipped with competitive features like better account sharing options and a free cloud DVR.

Channels and pricing

One disadvantage of DirecTV Now is that it isn’t very customizable. You have to buy the $65/month Go Big plan to get Fox Sports 2. If you don’t want or need all the other channels that come with that plan, too bad. There’s no other way to get FS2. However, the cheapest plan only costs $40/month.

DirecTV Now 2.0 gave all DirecTV Now subscribers access to a free 20-hour cloud DVR. In addition, AT&T expanded the two-device simultaneous stream limit to three streams– but only for customers that are willing to pay $5 extra each month.

AT&T’s massive resources likely helped it network with the companies behind many different cable TV channels. As a result, DirecTV Now has excellent support for TV Everywhere. Your DirecTV Now login credentials will unlock not only Fox Sports Go but also hundreds of other TV Everywhere apps and websites. Visit the DirecTV Now to find out more.

Like Sling TV, DirecTV Now has apps for a large number of TV devices:

  • Living room devices: Apple TV, Apple TV, Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Televisions based on Fire TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: None.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome and Safari.

PlayStation Vue

Like fuboTV, PlayStation Vue has come a long way since its inception. At first, only PlayStation console owners could access PlayStation Vue. Now, the streaming service is available on just about any TV device and web browser. One area where PlayStation Vue really shines is account sharing. Few other cable replacers can match PlayStation Vue’s five-device simultaneous stream cap.

Channels and pricing

PlayStation Vue’s plans start at $45. This looks somewhat expensive today, especially now that many sub-$30 cable replacement options are now available. On the other hand, PlayStation Vue’s Access plan– the cheapest plan available– comes with FS2, FS1, ESPN, ESPN2 and several other popular sports channels.

  • Access: 45+ channels for $45 per month.
  • Core: 70+ channels for $50 per month.
  • Elite: 94 channels for $60 per month.
  • Ultra: 96 channels, including HBO and Showtime, for $80 per month.

With its 5-device simultaneous stream limit, PlayStation Vue is one of the best streaming services to get if you have a large family or intend to share your account with roommates.

PlayStation Vue’s unlimited cloud DVR is another feature that may entice you to accept the streaming service’s somewhat high subscription prices. With PlayStation Vue, you can record as much TV as you want without having to worry about bumping up against limits or restrictions.

There are around 50 TV Everwhere sites and apps that work with PlayStation Vue. Device support is also above average:

  • Living room devices: Apple TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Televisions based on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android, Amazon Fire Tablets and iOS.
  • Game consoles: PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV doesn’t have quite as many channels as other streaming services, but it does have Fox Sports 2 as well as Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports, ESPN, ESPNEWS and a handful of other sports channels. In addition, YouTube TV has excellent features and great local broadcast station coverage.

Channels and packages

Rather than create several different subscription options, the creators of YouTube TV decided to offer a generous one-size-fits-all cable TV package. For $40, you will get around 70 channels. Of course, the exact number of channels varies depending on your location. Be sure to check the YouTube TV site to find out what channels you’ll get before you join.

Features and extras

YouTube TV’s features are nearly as competitive as PlayStation Vue’s. Both streaming services offer unlimited TV recording. However, YouTube TV limits you to streaming to three devices concurrently.

Another potential downside: YouTube TV and Amazon have a history of not getting along very well. The corporate giants’ ongoing feud has caused cord-cutters headaches because it has caused some annoying device compatibility issues. You may want to go with another streaming service if you have any type of Amazon TV device.

  • Living room devices: Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Certain models from HiSense, LG, Samsung and Sharp as well as televisions based on Android TV and Roku.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: Android and iOS.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome.

Hulu with Live TV

Source: Hulu With Live TV

On-demand video service Hulu recently entered the streaming service arena with a live TV service that Microsoft aptly dubbed Hulu with Live TV. As the name suggests, Hulu with Live TV is very similar to Hulu. The interface and many of the features are the same and all Hulu with Live TV subscribers can access Hulu’s on-demand content library.

Channels and pricing

Hulu with Live TV offers a competitive sports lineup that includes FS2, FS1, several ESPN channels, CBSN and more. As is the case with PlayStation Vue, Hulu with Live TV’s subscription packages are pricey compared to other streaming services. Prices start at $45 and go up with each feature you unlock.

Hulu with Live TV is one of the only streaming services that offer unlimited account sharing. However, you have to pay $15 extra per month for it. If you opt out, you’re stuck with Hulu’s default two-stream limit.

The same principle applies to Hulu with Live TV’s cloud DVR. If you need more than 50 hours of recording time, you can upgrade to 200 hours if you pay $15 extra per month.

Hulu’s large on-demand content library is one of the Hulu with Live TV’s biggest benefits. All Hulu with Live TV subscribers can access any Hulu on-demand movie or show.

Device support is quite good as well. Hulu with Live TV is the only streaming service that works with Nintendo Switch.

  • Living room devices: Apple TV, Chromecast, Apple TV.
  • Smart TVs and Blu-ray players: Samsung and LG smart TVs.
  • Mobile devices and tablets: iOS and Android.
  • Game consoles: Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch.
  • Desktop browsers: Chrome, Edge, Safari 10+, or Firefox 15+.
