Critics are raving about Jason Isaacs’ portrayal of commanding officer Gabriel Lorca:
“The actor playing this mysterious Gabriel Lorca — Jason Isaacs — also happens to be a major talent who instantly lifts Martin-Green’s game. These two appear to be a winning, multidimensional combo.” – Verne Gay, Newsday
CBS All Access may attract even more sci-fi fans next year when Strange Angel debuts.
Strange Angel is about the strange life of rocket engineer/sex magic practitioner Jack Parsons.
Like comic book character Tony Stark (aka Iron Man), Jack Parsons was a brilliant, wealthy genius that lived on the edge.
“It has seemed to me that if I had the genius to found the jet propulsion field in the US, and found a multimillion dollar corporation and a world renowned research laboratory, then I should also be able to apply this genius in the magical field.” – Jack Parsons
Though largely forgotten today, Jack Parsons was an extremely important figure in rocket science. Because Parsons co-founded Aerojet and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, many rank Parsons among its founding fathers.
Jack Parsons even had his own comic book at one point in time.
If Strange Angel is anywhere near as compelling as Jack Parson’s actual life, it could be a huge hit for CBS All Access.
