The Kodi Media Center continues to grow in popularity. Yet the media center has been around long enough to have several well-established communities full of newcomers and experts alike. Additionally, given how quickly Kodi changes, it’s important for new Kodi users to begin getting involved with Kodi communities and developers. This will help you stay on top of any relevant application changes, keep you updated with new and improved addons, and help you discover new ways to get the most out of your Kodi experience.

Below, we’ve provided a guide on some of the best Kodi communities around, as well as explained in what ways you can best use each one.

Before we Proceed

We highly recommend using a VPN when using Kodi. Kodi users have been known to receive copyright infringement notices for streaming movies, sports, and TV shows through various addons. If you would like to keep your streaming habits private, our recommendation is IPVanish - a complete privacy solution for Kodi users. It's also worth noting that purchasing a 12 month subscription will give you two months free.

Getting Involved with Kodi: Best Kodi Forums and Kodi Communities

Official Kodi Community Forum

Kodi TV Forum

All Kodi newcomers are highly encouraged to join the Kodi Community Forum, located on the official Kodi page. This forum provides a rather diverse list of different discussion areas for newcomers and veterans alike. Quite understandably, this is among the largest of all other Kodi communities, with over 300,000 registered users.

Why Join?

If you’re looking to get help starting on Kodi, or want to stay in-the-know on what’s happening with Kodi from the official source, this is the best community to join. You can engage directly with the developers by joining this forum and asking questions. If you find yourself interested in learning more about how Kodi works or just questions about different addons in general, this forum is one of the best places to go.

/r/Kodi

/r/kodi

If you find yourself more into Reddit communities, /r/Kodi is a great place to get involved in the Kodi community. This Kodi subreddit is the official subreddit community for Kodi. /r/Kodi is operated by Team Kodi, so you’ll find that the information here is direct from the most legitimate source.

/r/Kodi focuses purely on first-party addons for Kodi users, so if you’re looking for popular third-party or gray area addons, this is not going to be the place you want to go. However, if you’re into keeping up with Kodi as a program, need more hands-on help with Kodi, or just interested in what’s happening within the community in general, /r/Kodi is an excellent community to be a part of.

Why Join?

By joining this community, you can better engage with the 40,000+ users who look to Kodi for its potential. You’ll also find a more direct route to engage with Kodi developers. If you’re interested in making your own addons at some point as well, this is a good forum to join, as the developers and community can help you through the process.

/r/Addons4Kodi

/r/addons4kodi

This is one of the largest Kodi communities and one of our personal favorites. Addons4Kodi lives up to its name by specifically being a place for any users interested in different Kodi addons. Addons4Kodi has a subscriber base of nearly 40,000 users, but as with most Reddit forums, it’s followed by a lot more than the official subscribers.

This subreddit posts popular streaming addons every month. While the lists are often similar month-to-month, they do slowly morph over time as new addons get created and shared around the community, and some older addons expire. What’s great about their monthly popular streaming addon posts is that the moderators do a fairly good job of responding to users who are having issues getting some of the addons working.

Why Join?

As with any community, you may be wondering what benefit you’ll receive out of joining. For Addons4Kodi, we suggest joining this community and participating by chiming in when you see a good addon promoted, or feel an interesting addon you’ve found has not been mentioned. The community tends to appreciate excellent addon discoveries. Just be warned, however: The moderators prefer you to check the Wiki first before posting any troubleshooting questions.

AddonHQ

Addonhq Kodi communities

We here at AddonHQ love Kodi and the potential that its many streaming addons bring. This is why you’ll find that we update our site regularly with new addon installation guides, device setup guides, as well as interesting news about Kodi, VPNs and other related topics. You can engage with us and other users by leaving comments on different pages, or just follow us on social media.

TVAddons

TVaddons

TVAddons is one of the most popular sites out there for addons. However, their forum is one of the best places to go if you’re interested in learning more about new addons, straight from third-party addon developers. You may also find some interest topics of discussion that you won’t find on the official Kodi forum or Reddit page.

TVAddons develops a number of popular addons, such as Exodus and Indigo, making them a good source not just for community engagement for but addon development as well. You can follow different forum discussions via RSS feed as well, making it easier to keep in touch with the community.

Why Join?

You may find the individuals in this community a bit more willing to answer questions about some of the third-party addons than in the official forums and even in the /r/Addons4Kodi forum. There are also a lot of different forum topics here that you can get involved in, including an area for general computer help and even jokes and humor.
